Explore how monthly contributions may add up over time.
Fixed monthly contributions. Nominal annual rate divided by 12; monthly compounding. Beginning-of-month payments earn one additional month of assumed growth. At 0%, the result equals contributions. Taxes, fees, inflation and changing returns are excluded. Results are hypothetical, not guaranteed and not a recommendation.

Formula and assumptions
Monthly rate i = annual percentage / 1200. Number of months n = years × 12. End-of-month value = P × ((1+i)^n - 1) / i. For beginning-of-month contributions, multiply by (1+i). At i = 0, use P × n.
Some calculators instead treat the annual input as an effective annual rate and use (1+annual rate)^(1/12)-1. Those results will differ. This calculator uses the nominal convention stated above.
