Investigate the opportunity before the excitement.
Public offers and unlisted holdings
An IPO is an offer associated with a company entering public markets. Pre-IPO or unlisted-share transactions happen before a public listing and can involve very different documentation and transfer conditions.
Neither a future listing nor a profitable exit is assured. Availability and suitability must be confirmed for the specific opportunity.
Questions to ask
What evidence supports the valuation? Who is the seller or issuer? How are ownership and transfers documented? What restrictions apply?
For public offers, read the prospectus and risk factors. For unlisted holdings, ask how and when you could sell, what fees apply and whether you could lose the full amount.
Watch for pressure
Avoid decisions driven by claimed guaranteed listing gains or a last-minute deadline. Ask for written information and time to assess it.
Use official channels and verify the counterparty independently. Do not transfer money based solely on a website or chat message.
